We have a business relationship, so I’m not really interested in how you are doing!
“We have” (You have) a job to do, and I am your customer!
Maybe that wasn’t the exact wording, but it was the message from the other person. Disinterested business speech. I am just one of many tasks in the queue. Surely, I shouldn’t interpret it that way. The intention was definitely to motivate me to step up my game. Perceive it positively … regardless of how I feel. Well, he/she is also under pressure!
I noticed how I was trying to sugarcoat it for myself again …
Do you know this or similar situations too? Your value is tied to your utility. Now, one might think that’s true when it comes to fees. The more you benefit your customer, the more they will pay you?! But even that is often not true.
Because there are customers out there who (want to) use your expertise, your name, or your performance for their own success. You are just a small puzzle piece.
And maybe they just want to “sneak” a service? Maybe they have several irons in the fire, and you are just one of them?
Well - honesty and transparency look different.
Not all people are good (to you) - even if they claim to be.
And not all people are good for you!
Now the good news … Your gut feeling often helps you in your decisions!
A queasy feeling in your gut prevents you from acting freely and unleashing your energy. Negative emotions restrict your creativity and willingness to share and develop ideas.
„Whithout WE, there is no room for ME!“ - Marco Sauerhöfer -
Use your energy where you feel good and where you experience a benevolent, mindful appreciation of your personality!
