I don't tolerate any more intelligence – after all, I'm the boss here. Still.

The other morning in my kitchen. I just wanted coffee. Just. Coffee. Simple. Coffee.

Then Siri said,

„Good morning. I have already planned the day for you based on your habits.“

I didn't know whether to be grateful or call for resistance.

Because I wasn't even awake yet. My face felt like freshly pulled out of the USB port, but my calendar was apparently strategically orchestrated since 6:37 a.m.

„Today is a good day for creativity,“ she whispered, „I have prepared four TED talks and three inspiring quotes for you.“

I was hoping the toast would just brown. Instead, the refrigerator presented me with a new recipe idea based on my emotional consumption patterns.

The oven: „Based on your previous cooking skills, I suggest a simple dish: frozen pizza.“

The oven! Mockery made of stainless steel.

It didn't get better in the office.

I sat down at the computer - a window popped up:

„Hello boss. Today, your focus is particularly strong on efficiency. Do you want me to sort your mails by importance and prioritise your tasks?“

I was just trying to clean up. Digital. Let's look through everything. Maybe a little ... think?

But Siri, Copilot, Gemini & Co. had other plans.

My opinion? Did I still have them? Or was it just reflected to me every day in a friendly manner – and data-based?

I clicked on an article – „5 ways AI can improve your leadership“. Among them: „This might also interest you: How to look charismatic without having content.“

I closed the browser.

I went inside myself.

And found – unfortunately only suggestions.

In the evening the grand finale:
I lay down on the sofa, said to Siri: „Play music.“

Siri: „What mood do you want to create?“

Me: „The one in which I still feel like a self-determined person.“

Siri: „I’m sorry, I didn't understand.“

Of course not. Because that is no longer provided in the system.

I know, I know: This now sounds like a nostalgic song to the good old days. The one in which you could still decide for yourself whether you are in a bad mood on Mondays - without Siri analysing it.

But I stand firm.

I can't tolerate any more intelligence.

I'm still the boss in my house.

And in my office.

And in general.

Wait. My laptop is asking,

„Are you sure you really want to send this text? I have prepared alternative formulations with more commitment, emotionality and relevance.“

No thanks.

I'm tired. I just want to think. Without optimisation.

PS: If this text didn't inspire you, don't worry, your algorithm already has three alternatives on hold.

And if you now think: "Nicely written - but what does that have to do with me?"

I accompany people and organisations at exactly these points:

where leadership, personal responsibility and freedom of decision come under pressure – through systems, through structures, through algorithms.

As SystemicScout, I support managers, teams and companies in seeing clearly in complex situations - and finding orientation instead of just ensuring control.

I don't believe in simple solutions, but in clever questions.

To clear attitude.

And to people who don't want to forget to think for themselves even in a smart world.
